Branding, social, and other graphic design for Drop Coffee Shop.
Developed in close collaboration with founder Melvin Canales. Drop Coffee Shop was a place to belong. To connect with community in a real way. To develop the brand, I spent time with Drop’s people, and thought deeply about how to represent connection in an increasingly disconnected world.
Produced works include full brand in symbol and wordmark variations, Instagram posts and stories, shirts, aprons, stickers, and more.
People first, great coffee second.
Starting Drop meant thinking deeply about why Drop mattered. With Starbucks down the street, and other coffee shops popping up all around town, we had to communicate what made us special. Sitting around as a found-family having a meal in the extremely under-construction space, we realize there was a clear answer: our people. Through collaboration with community photographers, as well as within the Drop team, we developed a set of simple posters that portrayed Drop’s people, and invited customers to join the family.
Fresh off the press.
Perhaps the most fun aspect of working on the Drop brand was executing an assortment of physical media, including stickers, aprons, punch cards, invitations, and even hand-painting the logo on the wall.
